About the Virtual Gala
This year, we will once again be holding a virtual Gala & Auction. Last year, in the face of unprecedented challenges, JANM organized its successful Virtual Gala and Online Auction in April of 2020, which saw the participation of thousands of our supporters throughout the country. Since the health and safety of our community is of paramount importance, as is our obligation as a public institution to do our part to support efforts to inhibit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, a virtual Gala was one way to safely engage our supporters wherever they live. JANM used the virtual realm for our school tours and public programs as well.
For the 2021 Gala, we are introducing new elements to the guest experience to reunite us in celebration of JANM’s work and mission, despite our physical distance from one another.
The gala program will be available to view for free on our GiveSmart site on May 1, 2021. Ticket-holders, sponsors, and their guests will be able to celebrate and join together during the virtual reception prior to the live program. We invite you to stay for the after party once the live program concludes as we wrap up the evening with the last hour of the online auction. Chat with some old friends you haven’t seen since our last gala and see who you’re bidding against amongst the friendly faces!

Become a Gala Sponsor
All funds raised from sponsorship go toward supporting JANM’s general operations, and are 100% tax-deductible. As the largest fundraiser of the year, the annual gala allows us to continue our important educational programming throughout the year. Purchase Premium Tickets to the Virtual Ballroom Experience
Mix and mingle at virtual tables from the comfort of your own home (access to web camera and microphone required) on our virtual gala platform. Ticket-holders will also receive an exclusive custom-made JANM gift for their support by mail (while supplies last).

Donate to the Online Auction
We invite you to participate by donating unique products or local opportunities toward the online auction. Please complete our auction donation form or visit janm2021.givesmart.com to provide your donation information online, and you will be recognized on the item listing. All donations must be received by March in order to ensure its inclusion in our upcoming auction.
We are no longer accepting donations to the online auction at this time.
Bid in the Online Auction
Our online auction is open to the public. We will have a selection of exclusive packages this year in a range of categories. The auction will be open for bidding on Friday, April 23 by 5 p.m. (PDT). See our FAQ for more details.

Donate to the Bid for Education
Your support toward the Bid for Education program will enable us to provide virtual museum visits for primary and secondary school students from Title I schools and groups who have demonstrated financial need. You can donate at any time before or after May 1 by mail, phone, or online.

Purchase Lexus Opportunity Drawing Entries
Win a 2021 Lexus RX 450h! Thanks to the generous support of Toyota Motor North America, funds raised will support JANM’s educational programming and outreach. The winner will be announced during our virtual program on May 1.
Deadlines: mailed order forms must be received by Friday, April 23. You can call during regular business hours until 4 p.m. (PDT) on Monday, April 26.

Promote Your Business with a Digital Ad
Your company’s logo or family crest will be featured on the homepage of our donation and auction website and on our gala platform for premium ticket-holders, sponsors, and their guests.
