Since 1898, the Japanese American family farm units characterized the Kona coffee industry. The independence, determination, sense of community and cooperation of these pioneering families continue to live on with the people of Kona. Ed Kaneko, Kona coffee grower, conducts a workshop on weaving a traditional wire-mesh coffee picking basket. Members $5, non-members $9 includes Museum admission. Reservations required. Limited seating available.
