Hanamatsuri: The Celebration of Buddha’s Birth

The birth of Buddha will be celebrated at the Museum with several programs slated for the day, including a lecture in Japanese at 11 a.m. and in English at 2 p.m. on “Living Together in Harmony” by Mark Unno of Carleton College in Minnesota, a taiko performance, a Hanamatsuri (flower festival) service, and activities for children.

Programs are free of charge and open to the public. Reservations are required. To make reservations, please call the Museum at 213.625.0414.
