Featuring: Hiroshi “Hershey” Miyamura, Charles Kubokawa, Norman Y. Mineta, Vince Okamoto, Judge Taketsugi Takei, Robert Wada, and host Mitchell T. Maki
The Korean War is often referred to as the “Forgotten War” and yet its impact upon Japanese Americans would change the community forever. This discussion will explore the complicated issues associated with the Korean War and its social impact on society, specifically the Japanese American community.
This distinguished group of panelists encompasses a wide range of industries and achievements including a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, an Aeronautical Hall of Famer, a former congressman, a lawyer, a judge, the president of the JAKWV, and a university professor. Each will speak about their own personal stories as well as those of other Japanese Americans who were a part of the Korean War, and how they were able to affect their community in positive ways.
Co-sponsored by the Japanese American Korean War Veterans (JAKWV)
