1 p.m–3 p.m.: So, Now You’re the Coach: Basketball Tips for Parent Coaches
Featuring: Coaches Yosh Arima and Marcia Murota
Whether you’re the team’s new coach or working with your kids in the backyard, you’ll learn some valuable and fun coaching techniques from two experienced and inspirational basketball coaches. Yosh Arima, the first Japanese American to hold a coaching position in Los Angeles in the early 1950s, and who coached basketball at Belmont High School for over four decades, and Marcia Murota, head women’s basketball coach at California State University, Los Angeles, will share their experiences in how to motivate, encourage, and teach young children the great game of basketball. Session is geared to new or beginner coaches. Special public program for More Than a Game exhibition.
