Bird Carving Workshop for Children
Inmates of America's concentration camps carved bird pins out of found wood. Participants will examine bird pins on display in the exhibitions, Henry Sugimoto: Painting an American Experience and Common Ground: The Heart of Community. Who made them and why? Following this activity, children will learn how to draw and make simple carvings of bird pins. Appropriate for children ages 6-12 years old. Cost: $5 for Museum members, $11 for non-Members.
