The Japanese American National Museum is proud to announce its partnership with CHOPSO, the first streaming destination for English-language Asian content from around the world. Several documentary films produced by the museum’s award-winning Frank H. Watase Media Arts Center will be available for streaming on the site.
CHOPSO invites you to celebrate their launch with a 20th anniversary screening of Chris Tashima”s Oscar-winning short film, Visas and Virtue, inspired by the true story of Holocaust rescuer Chiune “Sempo” Sugihara, known as “the Japanese Schindler.” Also screening will be Crossover, Justin Lin’s short documentary about Japanese American basketball made when he worked at JANM”s Media Arts Center. In addition, we will be joined this evening by the talented actor and singer, Megan Lee. Reception at Far Bar to follow event.
