Tea & Letter Writing: gathering in relaxation, expression & conversation

Do you miss the art of letter writing? Would you like the opportunity to write a letter to the future of Little Tokyo or to a future stakeholder of this community?

Gather with us in a relaxed atmosphere to share tea and conversation and write letters—with plenty of prompts provided by traci kato-kiriyama, former Little Tokyo +LAB Artist-in-Residence at JANM. Come write about your hopes and dreams for the future of Little Tokyo; the future of how we define “home,” “community,” and “solidarity”; and for the future of how we practice what it means to be a “good friend” and a “good neighbor.”

Artist and tea enthusiast Linda Wei will be helping to share tea at the top of the evening, to center us and bring the room together, before we read aloud some letters from JANM’s permanent collection as a group.

All ages are welcome to join. Tea and paper/cards/stamps will be provided, free of charge. Come early to visit the museum galleries (Pay What You Wish admission from 5 p.m.–8 p.m.). This program is free but RSVPs are encouraged at the link below.
