The American War Experience Through California Voices: World War II
FREE
JANM is pleased to partner with the Cal Poly Pomona Veterans Resource Center to present the second of two discussions about World War II as part of their special series, The American War Experience through California Voices. (Click on the RSVP link for details about the first discussion at Cal Poly Pomona on October 30.)
These will be reading-based discussions based on Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston’s Farewell to Manzanar. The discussions will explore how war shapes identity, culture, and society, as well as values such as patriotism, loyalty, community, and sacrifice.
Participation and all materials are free. Refreshments will be provided for participants that register at the link below. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Michael Cholbi at mjcholbi@cpp.edu or the Veterans Resource Center at 909.869.6994.
This is the second series of discussions that are being led by veterans and military dependents affiliated with Cal Poly Pomona’s Veterans Resource Center.
