ONLINE WORKSHOP: Discover Your Japanese American Roots with Chester Hashizume

All three sessions are 10 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

A comprehensive introductory workshop covering genealogy basics such as identifying your ancestral Japanese hometown, obtaining and utilizing family documents, and determining the meaning behind surnames and family crests—all the tools you need to discover your roots.

This workshop will be presented online only in three sessions using the Zoom video conferencing platform. You will be able to access it using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device using PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android operating systems. You will need to download a desktop client or mobile app prior to the session. Participants will be emailed instructions for access, as well as materials to be used for the sessions, so please make sure to check the email address that you provide when registering. Please email publicprograms@janm.org if you do not receive the information or if you have any additional questions.

$20 members, $25 non-members. Digital materials included. RSVP early, 100 students max.
