Echoes of Resilience: Imagining the Possible in Preserving Japanese American Heritage

2024 Japanese American Confinement Sites Consortium Education Conference

This annual event brings together scholars, activists, and community members dedicated to preserving and educating about the history of Japanese American incarceration during WWII. Highlights include a panel on the Irei: National Monument, programmed in collaboration with Tsuru for Solidarity’s Kintsugi 2024, and the immersive FandangObon event celebrating diverse cultural traditions. 

In addition to engaging discussions and cultural experiences, the conference focuses on capacity-building opportunities to strengthen organizations. Sessions on multi-generational fundraising, capacity building, facilitating difficult conversations, and case studies on storytelling will equip participants with essential tools for sustainable growth.
