PAY WHAT YOU WISH*

JANM is proud to present the 2015 Day of Remembrance in partnership with the Japanese American Citizens League–Pacific Southwest District, Nikkei for Civil Rights and Redress, and the Manzanar Committee. The event marks the 73rd anniversary of the signing of Executive Order 9066, which led to the forced removal and mass incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans.

The 2015 Community Day of Remembrance will feature a conversation reflecting the Japanese American and African American experiences of injustice in the U.S. Speakers will include activists Mike Murase, Rey Fukuda, and Povi-Tamu Bryant. Moderators will be Dr. Curtiss Takada Rooks, Assistant Professor of Asian Pacific American Studies at Loyola Marymount University, and Helen Ota, Director of Marketing & Development at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC).

*Does not include admission to Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty.

On Discover Nikkei, “My Name is Neal” educates about the Japanese American WWII incarceration in this cartoon.
