Greeting Card Series At The Japanese American National Museum
Come join the fun and participate in the exciting greeting card series at the Japanese American National Museum and learn how to make Origami Birds and Mizuhiki Envelopes! Located at 369 East First Street in the Little Tokyo Historic District of Los Angeles, call 213.625.0414 today to reserve your spot in the free Origami Birds workshop on Saturday, April 11, 1998, and the free Mizuhiki Envelopes workshop on Saturday, April 25, 1998, both from 1 p.m.–3 p.m.
Origami is the Japanese art of paper-folding techniques, so come master the creation of beautiful paper birds. Taught by Ryoko Shibata, absolutely no scissors are needed; just your imagination!
The art of paper string is mizuhiki, and Sansei (teacher) Shibata will show you how to stylize your own intricate designs to decorate your greeting card envelopes. It’s sure to always bring a smile to the mail carrier!
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles, Cultural Affairs Department.
