Silent Auction

The auction is open to everyone 18 years and older. You must be 21 years and older to bid on any alcohol-related auction package. We encourage you to share the link with your friends and family.

To participate in the Auction from the convenience of your home, you just need to register on janm2019.givesmart.com. Bidders will be responsible for paying immediately upon winning, and must cover shipping costs or coordinate pick-up of their items/certificates from the Japanese American National Museum during designated times. Instructions will be sent to winners after the auction closes. (Only domestic shipping can be provided.

Yes. If you register on janmgala.givesmart.com, you can access the Silent Auction even if you are not attending the Gala Dinner on April 13. However, off-site bidders will be responsible for paying immediately upon winning, and must cover shipping costs or coordinate pick-up of their items/certificates from the Japanese American National Museum during business hours. (Only domestic shipping can be provided.)

If you prefer not to use your phone at the event, you can have our staff and volunteers make your bids for you. Just reach out to any one of us during the Silent Auction and let us know which items you would like to bid on, and your maximum bid amount. Upon the closing of the Silent Auction, please check with us to see if you’ve won your items.

Upon registering your mobile phone number at janmgala.givesmart.com, you will be asked to provide credit card information. Offsite bidders will need to authorize their winning bid charges to that credit card immediately after the auction closes. Those attending the Gala Dinner will be able to pay by check or cash by visiting the cashier station in the foyer at the end of the event, but please note that paying by credit card on your mobile device will ensure a faster checkout.

If you are attending the event, you will need proof of payment in order to pick up your items at the end of the evening. Please pay your Silent Auction balance by entering your credit card information through the website, or visit our cashier station to pay by check or cash. You will need to present your “PAID” stamp on your online statement to pick up your items on-site.

If you are bidding off-site, you must pay online by credit card in order to coordinate delivery/pick-up of your item. We will contact you regarding any additional balance for shipping costs.
