Question 27, Question 28 by Chay Yew, directed by Jully Lee

Artists at Play is sharing free theatre for young audiences in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! What were the experiences of Japanese American women during the World War II concentration camps? How did they keep hope alive for themselves, their families and community? Question 27, Question 28 by Chay Yew uses archival interviews and testimonials to tell their stories of hardship, determination, and love. This presentation is an abridged version of the original directed by Jully Lee, which has been shortened and edited for families.

This performance was originally recorded as part of the 2021 Oshogatsu Virtual Family Festival and is presented in partnership with Artists at Play.
