The Japanese American National Museum Announces the 2023 Benefit and Online Auction
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Japanese American National Museum (JANM) will host the Annual Benefit and Online Auction with the theme Across Generations on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The Benefit will spotlight the stories of new and established leaders who see and believe in the importance of JANM and its enduring role in our democratic society. These leaders transcend several generations and hail from across the nation. JANM is hopeful for the future as new generations engage with the Museum to continue the vision toward a better world.
The Benefit will be emceed by Frank Buckley, anchor of KTLA 5 Morning News in Los Angeles, and will feature music by the Sansei Rockers. This high-energy group features the Grammy Award–winning Royce Jones, three members of Somethin’ Else, two members of the Society of Seven, and singer-songwriter Harold Payne.
Visit janm.org/benefit2023 to purchase individual tickets, participate in the Online Auction, make a Bid for Education, and enter the 2023 Lexus Opportunity Drawing. The Benefit will be livestreaming on the Museum’s YouTube channel, @janmdotorg, from 6 p.m.–7:30 p.m. PDT.
JANM’s Online Auction celebrates the community by highlighting goods and services of local businesses, corporate partners, and the works of talented artists. The Museum’s Bid For Education program makes field trips to JANM possible for more than 12,000 primary and secondary school students and teachers every year. Contributions to this program help JANM bring students back to the Museum and develop its virtual visit program. Contributions can be made online through janm2023.givesmart.com, by mail, or by phone. Funds raised from the 2023 Lexus Opportunity Drawing will support educational programming and outreach at JANM.
